2 Months Post-Op Rhinoplasty and Swelling

Q) I am now exactly 8 weeks post op from rhinoplasty surgery and it seems I have a lot of swelling, I have thick skin and am really concerned my tip is really round, could you tell me how long is normal to have swelling and could this round shape tip be it?

Dr. Francis R. Palmer’s Answer: Typical swelling time following Rhinoplasty

A) If you read that most of the swelling, after Rhinoplasty, should be gone after 2 months…I could not disagree more. In my 20 years experience performing Rhinoplasty, the nose can and does swell for a minimum of 6-9 months after a Rhinoplasty with the majority of the swelling during the first 3-4 months. Thick skin and an active lifestyle will all lead to a prolonged time of swelling after a Rhinoplasty.  I instruct all my Rhinoplasty patients on how to perform daily nasal massage beginning at 1 month to decrease the nasal swelling.

How Do I Find the Best Rhinoplasty Surgeon?

Q) I don’t really want to go asking friends for advice on finding the right rhinoplasty doctor for my nose job. What is the best way to find the best surgeon?

Dr. Francis R. Palmer’s Answer: Rhinoplasty, Beverly Hills Rhinoplasty, Nasal Refinement, Nose Job, Best Rhinoplasty Surgeon

A) I have been performing Rhinoplasty for over 20 years. The best Rhinoplasty surgeons have the following things in common:

  • great aesthetic judgement
  • vast Rhinoplasty experience
  • rigorous Rhinoplasty training

There simply is no substitute for training, experience and sound aesthetic judgment. You will have to IMO, pay for several consults with top Rhinoplasty surgeons you can find by the content and quality of their websites.  During the consultation get a feel of whether, or not, they understand the beauty of the nose as outlined in my new book on the aesthetics of beauty “What’s Your Number…the palmer code”.

Do not look for bargains, free consults or cut rate surgical prices, as the top Rhinoplasty surgeons don’t offer these. See real before and after photos of their patients, in their office not online pictures that can be photo shopped or a computer image enhancement that’s not achievable in real life.
