What defines the World’s Best Rhinoplasty and Rhinoplasty Surgeon?  World renowned Rhinoplasty Surgeon, Dr Francis Palmer a top Beverly Hills Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Surgeon was voted one of the “World’s Best” Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeons answers Rhinoplasty Questions.  Dr Francis Palmer has performed Rhinoplasty and Revision Rhinoplasty for over 25 years using Rhinoplasty techniques that result in naturally, more attractive results.

Rhinoplasty Question:

Does the tip of the nose always drop after rhinoplasty?

Dr Francis Palmer’s Answer:

While some “minimal” downward rotation can occur during the post Rhinoplasty stage, it’s an urban myth that a nasal tip that’s over-rotated (greater than 120 degrees) will drop enough to be within the aesthetic norm of 105 to 110, 115 for women.

There are Rhinoplasty techniques that I use, one is called a retrograde tip-plasty, that won’t rotate the nasal tip at all.  The determination of the aesthetic goals, of your Rhinoplasty, should be the main reason for selecting a particular Rhinoplasty Surgeon.  Experience performing Rhinoplasty, especially if the aesthetic results yield over-rotated tips is simply not enough.  The Rhinoplasty Surgeon must understand the aesthetics of a naturally more attractive nose and the various Rhinoplasty techniques that allow those goals to be accomplished while avoiding those that will not.
